About Project SEARCHTM at Wegmans
Project SEARCHTM at Wegmans Food Markets launched on September 8, 2010. This project operates in partnership between Wegmans, Monroe 1 BOCES, Lifetime Assistance, Inc., ACCES-VR, Finger Lakes DDSO, and is coordinated by the Institute for Innovative Transition.
Nine students are currently participating in Project SEARCHTM at Wegmans for the 2011-2012 academic school year. Students arrive on-site at the Calkins Road Wegmans at 8:30am and begin their day in the classroom where they focus on work readiness skills. Students began their first internship Sepember in various departments at the Calkins Road, Marketplace, and Ridge-Culver stores, including front end cashier, bakery, seafood, Marketplace Cafe, grocery, dairy, and prepared foods, and maintenance. The current internships will continue until the end of December.
