The Institute for Innovative Transition is Hiring!Health Project Coordinator-Employment Systems Change Full time health project coordinator required for the newly funded federal Administration on Developmental Disabilities' Partnerships in Employment Systems Change grant ($2.35 million over 5 years). HPC will work under the director of the Senior Health Project Coordinator and the Principal Investigator of the Administration on Developmental Disabilities grant who is the Co-Director of the Institute for Innovation Transition (IIT). HPC will provide direct administrative support for implementation of the NYS Partnerships in Employment Systems Change initiative (PESC) through Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities and IIT. The health project coordinator of this federally funded NY State Partnerships in Employment System Change project must have a high degree of organization and the ability to deal with the complexities of working with multiple State systems. The HPC will be required to communicate with individuals at the regional and state levels in the statewide collaboration of the NYS Office of People with Developmental Disabilities, the NYS vocational rehabilitation office and the Office of Special Education (both in NYS Department of Education), and the NYS Developmental Disabilities Planning Council. Organizational and management skills will be especially important in the coordination of regional and statewide summits on employment, providing technical assistance to Project SEARCH programs in the State (Project SEARCH is a nationally recognized transition to employment program for 18-21 year olds with developmental disabilities), and coordinate and manage data collection, data entry, and data analysis for the funded project. Position has an end date of 9/30/2016. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years to three years related experience in disability, health, or human services field. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills; the ability to interact effectively in a wide range of settings and with a wide range of individuals. Presentation preparation and delivery skills are imperative. Exercises independent technical judgment in coordinating activities that support program projects and initiatives, as identified in the project work plan. Must be well organized and able to coordinate complex, multi-system activities. Experience with coordinating large projects that include development and management is desirable. Must have reliable/efficient transportation.
Health Project Coordinator- Project SEARCH and Think College NY!
Full time health project coordinator (HPC) required to provide professional level direct coordination and administrative support for implementation of Project SEARCH and Think College NY for the Institute for Innovative Transition at Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities. The HPC will work independently to provide technical assistance to Project SEARCH and Think College NY project sites, including three different Project SEARCH sites and two different Think College NY sites. Project SEARCH is a transition program that provides employment skills in the last year of high school for students with significant disabilities transitioning them into competitive employment. Think College NY is an inclusive higher education program for young adults with significant disabilities that places them on college campuses with mentors, taking classes and having jobs. The HPC will independently coordinate and lead weekly site meetings, as well as monthly meetings with partners for each project, including the Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Service Office (DDSO), the local vocational rehabilitation arm of ACCES-VR (the NYS vocational rehabilitation office), the adult disability voluntary agency serving the project, and the educational entity providing students and teachers for the projects. The HPC will provide professional development to partners, as well as independently troubleshooting issues that arise within the partnerships. Attendance at regional monthly transition meetings will be required, as well as reporting on the status and outcomes of the Project SEARCH and Think College NY projects to the Director and Co-Director if the Institute for Innovative Transition. Presentations to local groups and regional conferences and trainings on the two projects will be periodically required. The HPC will report directly to the Director and Co-Director, and will be directly supervised by the Senior Health Project Coordinator.
